Here's some records from the doggie world:
Tallest Dog Breed: The Great Dane is the tallest breed. A 42.12 inches (107 cm) dog named «Gibson» from California, USA is the tallest dog alive today.
World's Heaviest Dog: The Saint Bernards dog breed holds the record for heaviest dog. Benedictine, a saint bernard dog of this breed was 357 pounds (162 kilos). Another breed that is known for is weight is the english masstiff, and the heaviest mastiff that ever lived was 350,5 pounds (159 kilos).
Smallest breed: The Chihuahua is the world's smallest dog breed. The smallest dog that ever lived was a chihuahua, and its length was only 5.98 inches (15.2 cm) in adulthood, and another dog of the same breed holds the record for lowest height and lowest weight, respectively 4.72 inches (12 cm) and 1.43 pounds (650 gram). That's a huge contrast to the heaviest and tallest dogs as mentioned above!
Most Intelligent Dog Breed: The Border Collie is regarded the most intelligent dog breed in the world. They were bred for their great herding skills. Other dogs that are known for its intelligence is the poodle and the german shepherd dog.
Most Popular Breed: Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed in the US, in Canada, in Europe and they are the most numerous dogs in the world.
Most Agressive: The Dachshund and Chihuahua is quite dangerous despite their size. They might not kill you, but they will bite - more often than other breeds. Actually, pitbull type breeds aren't as agressive as the media would like us to believe. Some particular pitbull dogs may be agressive, but that's because of bad breeding practises and/or because their owners didn't take the necessary precautions. The American Pitbull Terrier and the Bull terrier often make great family pets, although they can be very agressive towards other dogs. However, all dogs should be regarded as potentially dangerous. A tiny Pomeranian once attacked and killed a human child, and no breed or dog should be regarded 100% safe with children.
Great Pyredanes are wonderful all around dogs. They are the perfect guardian for the farm or the perfect oversized lap dog in the family.
I don't know much about coydogs, but I'm pretty appalled that a site that is supposed to be informational is allowing people to post pictures of dead "coydogs." With the exception of the first picture, every one of those dogs was found dead on the side of the road.
I recently adopted a Labrador Husky and have since met several others who have them. My own dog is wonderful, despite having been a stray in remote costal Labrador.
there are many farming kennels and sites that have 10+ dogs breeding and running around at random, while mothers are locked in cages with their pups. these people charge around $1000 to $3000 just for a single, most likely inbred and physically retarded puppy.
We rescued our Drever from a shelter in Virginia. She was most likely been abused as she was very jumpy and shy when we first brougt her home.
