United Kennel Club acknowledges the breed as «Terriers» in their register. Canadian Kennel Club categorizes the breed as «Terriers».

Health troubles in the Border Terrier: Sadly, some may experience menacing health troubles. Heart disease is a frequent disorder in this breed.

The dog breeds physiology: The Border Terrier is a bitsy breed. Dogs get as tall as 13 to 16 inches tall. Bitches get as tall as 13 to 16 inches tall. Dogs weighs 13 to 16 pounds. Bitches is 12 to 15 pounds. The dog has average sized half-rised ears. is occasionally of average length. Border Terrier have a somewhat average body type. The hanging low tail is Supershort. Its muzzle is somewhat short. The fur is wireharied.

Colors of this breed is ordinarily grizzle and tan, red, blue and tan, or just tan.

Other facts about the dog: The breed is somewhat popular and ordinarily no trouble to find for sale. The border terrier were originally bred for ratting and following horses on foxhunts and worrying them from their lairs.
