Looking like a Golden Retriever, but the howart is a herding dog and with a different temperament.

Hovawart is a first-class herding dog. In Australia, New Zealand and the United States herding dogs are known as working dogs.

These dogs can be used as guarddogs. Males are considered better property guardians because of their greater territorial instinct.

Hovawart is middling problematic to drill. These creatures are very energetic and even long and demanding trips will not be a difficulty. The dog breed requires ample of physical training.

The breeds may be a bit reserved, aloof and wary of visitor. Can be a bit dog aggressive.

This dog breed may bark, but mostly not excessively. Hovawart will mainly not thrive in astonishingly hot climates. They can handle freezing temperatures and can adapt to cold climates. They are not astonishingly found of being home alone.

Country of creation: this dog breed was created by breeders from Germany. Still, they are hard to find in Berlin.

FCI ID for hovawart is 190 and was added to the book 1998-01-12. United Kennel Club acknowledges the dog breed as «Guardian Dogs» in their book. Canadian Kennel Club categorizes the dog breed as «Working dogs».

The breeds anatomy: This breed is somewhat big. Dogs reach a hight of 23 to 28 inches tall. Bitches will get 23 to 28 inches tall. Dogs weighs 55 to 90 pounds. Bitches can weigh 55 to 90 pounds. The hovawart has medium sized pendant ears. is mainly somewhat long. The body type of the Hovawart is somewhat average. The hanging low tail is of middling length. They have a middling-sized muzzle. The coat is of medium length.

Colors of this breed of dog is mostly blonde, black, or black and tan.
