The breed have a par need for endurance training.

The Kishu's may be a bit reserved, aloof and wary of visitor. They are occasionally friendly with other dogs. These dogs can be great pets for older kids.

First bred in: this race was originally bred in Japan. However, they are not a common sigth in Tokyo.

Kishu classification: Kishu is recognized in the World Canine Organisation register. The breed is approved in the section «Asian Spitz and related breeds» (5.5) in the classification «Spitz and Primitive types». World Canine Organisation identification for kishu is 318 and was added to the register 1994-12-20. United Kennel Club acknowledges the breed as «Northern Breed» in their register.

The Kishu's shape: The fur is of medium length.

Additional facts about the dog: The breed is ordinarily not perplexing to discover for sale in the market. Kishu will sometimes be mentioned as Kishu Ken.
