State of health in the Maltese: Regrettably, some of the dogs may experience menacing health problems. Many Maltese's will get eye problems or eye syndrome. Problems with tooth and gum is pretty common in this breed. Luxating patella (slipped stifle) is a usually seen in these dogs. Other health problems have also been recorded (including hypoglycemia).
