Federation Cynologique Internationale i.d. for schipperke is 83 and was added to the catalog 2003-03-25. American Kennel Club categorizes the breed as «Non-Sporting Dogs». United Kennel Club incorporates the breed as «Companion Dogs» in their catalog.
