The Seppala Siberian Sleddog were bred as a separate strain. They shared a stud book registry with the Siberian Husky. In 1997 Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada recognized these dogs as a "evolving breed".

Seppala Siberian Sleddog is a first-rate sleddog. Sled dogs are canines that are used to pull a sled or sleigh over snow or ice by means of harnesses.

Seppala Siberian Sleddog is a northern breed. Spitz-type dogs are the primary dog type of the Arctic and northern parts of the world.

Origin: this race was originally bred in Canada. However, they are not a common sigth in Ottawa.
