Shih Tzu is not vastly smart compared to other breeds.

The breed is a hypoallergenic pedegree. Hypoallergenic is a term that means "causing below normal allergic reactions". No canine is known to be completely nonallergenic. They do not shed. The dogs do require a lot of grooming.

Shih Tzu is fair burdensome to train. The breed is not more easily affected than comparable breeds. They are not the most energetic dogs in the world. However, all dogs need a daily walk. The breed have a fair need for training.

The dogs is commonly kind against visitor. They are usually friendly with other dogs. They are children friendly and good with kids. The dogs show little or none predatory dispositions. The Shih Tzu do not instinctively nip, chew, and nibble.

This breed may bark, but commonly not excessively. Shih Tzu will not thrive in hot climates. Although they may live in colder climates, this is not ideal. This breed is known to be vastly playful. They love to be with the family, and rarely (if ever) try to escape. The Shih Tzu can get used to be home alone for a few hours every day. They can live in a small apartment.

Place of origin: these dogs was cultivated in Tibet.

Shih Tzu class: Shih Tzu is recognized in the Federation Cynologique Internationale catalog. The breed is approved in the section «Tibetan breeds» (9.5) in the class «Companion and Toy Dogs». Federation Cynologique Internationale i.d. for shih tzu is 208 and was added to the catalog 1987-06-24. American Kennel Club classifies the breed as «Toy Dogs». United Kennel Club acknowledges the breed as «Companion Dogs» in their catalog. Canadian Kennel Club classifies the breed as «Non-Sporting dogs».

Health concerns in the Shih Tzu: Unfortunately, a lot may experience serious health concerns. Infections in the ear is a widespread problem with the Shih Tzu. Eyelid problems is Unfortunately a problem for this pedegree. Many Shih Tzu's will get eye problems or eye illness. Concerns with tooth and gum is vastly common in this breed. Luxating patella (slipped stifle) is a commonly seen in these dogs. Heatstroke is commonly seen in this pedegree. Respiratory difficulties is seen in this pedegree.

The dogs appearance:Shih Tzus are usually puny. Males get as tall as 10 to 11 inches tall. Female dogs reach a hight of 10 to 11 inches tall. Males weighs 9 to 16 pounds. Female dogs get as heavy as 9 to 16 pounds. The dog has mid-sized dangling ears. The feet is usually somewhat short. The tail is Short and curled. The muzzle is vastly short. The fur is short.
